Today, we worked on estimation.
We talked about how estimation is trying to say how many or how much, without directly counting or measuring. (That's hard for 7 year olds, who desperately want to be right-on & correct all the time!)
To practice estimating, the kids passed around baby food jars full of different objects and recorded their answers.

We will count the objects "for real" tomorrow and find out how close our estimates were to the actual answer!
