Valentine's Day Fun

Valentine's Day was fantastic fun in Room 14 this year! Everyone made a cute magnet with a love bug on it. Many had eyes, legs, and antennae!

Everyone had some good relaxing time reading Valentine's Day books...

They did a Valentine math page, and even played heart BINGO!

We passed out Valentines....

At the end of the day, we all made a Valentine mouse!

We had a very fun day!

Parachutes!

As a quick side-note, we have a crazy amount of geese that love to hang out near our playground every morning! Here they are!

In science, we are wrapping up our study of air, air pressure, compression, and resistance. We observed how 3 different parachute types fall to the ground, and timed them as they fell to the floor. The parachute made out of a plastic sheet fell the fastest. The parachute made out of a napkin took the longest to hit the floor.

Then, each kid got a chance to make his/her own parachute and try dropping it from different heights around the room.

Science is fun!

Doubles Day!

Many of us showed our Foxy Spirit by dressing as someone's double, or by wearing double THINGS (2 watches, 2 pony tails, etc.)

We Have A New Science Unit!

Our new science unit is called "Air and Weather". For this first investigation, each person was given a bag of supplies. They were to use the supplies and discover how air can be used, or whe

re air is. In the bag were these items:

a plastic sack

a scrap of paper

We All Have A Dream....

Our class has been studying the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We learned about his dream for the world, and how his dream has been coming true. Then, everyone had the chance to say their own dream for the world, and how they can help the dream come true. Here are our ideas!
