More Moses!

Hello, Room 14! It was so great to see you last week! Our classroom looks awesome, and it was so cool to hear about all of the fun things you are doing with Mrs. O'Neil!
Moses is still doing great...he eats and pukes all day long. Sometimes he smiles when he's sleeping, so that's pretty funny to see. We went to see the 1st grader's in Mr. Brosnan's class today, and they loved meeting him, too.
I thought you might want to see Moses in a video!

Have a great week at school! Fox totally ROCKS!

We Are Still In South Carolina!

Hi, Room 14! Mr. Brosnan, Moses and I are all still in South Carolina. It is on the opposite side of the country from Washington! The weather is very warm, and there are palm trees everywhere! South Carolina is right by the Atlantic Ocean. It's pretty!Usually in the mornings, we put Moses in his stroller and we go for a walk by the water.

And then, we come back to the hotel for a little nap.
Sometimes Moses snores. It sounds so funny!

Of course, I have him wear his little MONKEY HAT! Isn't he handsome? When I took this picture, my camera was shining a little light in his eyes. He looks kind of confused about what I am doing.

This is Mr. Brosnan's hand with Moses's hand on top! Isn't he a tiny little guy?

He is wearing his monkey and banana PJ's a lot. These ones say "GO BANANAS!" He is a sleepy baby! When we get home to Vancouver, I will definitely start reading him some Curious George books at bedtime.

At night time, Moses gets really cranky and upset if his arms are flopping around. So, we wrap him up in this little blanket with velcro, and he looks like a baby burrito! Since his arms and legs are all wrapped up, he acts a lot more calm and seems more happy. This is called swaddling. Doesn't he look cute?

We should be flying home in a few days on another long plane ride! Once we get home, I will make a plan with Mrs. O'Neil about when I will come and visit you. I will bring Moses so you can meet him!

Have a great day!

Moses Came Early!

On Saturday morning (October 29th), we got a phone call that baby Moses was ready to come into the world! We booked a flight by lunch time, and arrived in South Carolina by midnight late Saturday night. Then, we saw baby Moses!
And Moses saw Mr. Brosnan!
Isn't he handsome? He has a lot of hair!

So far, he is really, really sleepy! Even when he cries, he sounds so tiny and little! He has the hiccups a LOT and sneezes every now and then.

We will need to stay in South Carolina for about a week, and then we can come home to Washington! I will visit Dorothy Fox soon, and will bring Moses!

Have a great time with Mrs. O'Neill! She is the best and already loves Room 14!

Look At Us Balance!!!

Our science unit is called "Balance and Motion"!

We have been balancing objects by finding a good balance point. Then, we added counter weights, or extra weights to make the object more stable.

Here we are, balancing paper crayfish on our fingers.

(Good thing they weren't real!)

Balancing crayfish without counterweights is impossible!

Let's try adding some counterweights!

Look at that!

Counterweights placed on the bottom of the object helped it balance!

Way to go!

You did it!

Next, we balanced cardboard arches and triangles using what we already knew.

You did it!

Welcome To Mrs. Brosnan's Class!

Hello there! I am Mrs. Brosnan. I'm excited you are going to be in my class!

This is Mr. Brosnan. He teaches 1st grade in Oregon. He likes doing silly tricks!

This is our dog Goliath. He thinks he is the boss of our home.

We went on a lot of fun trips this summer! Here's a shot of Bryce Canyon National Park. Aren't those rocks amazing?

We went on a hike up a river in Zion National Park. We used a big walking stick to help us balance, and we rented big water hiking boots to help us. Sometimes, the water went up to our shoulders!

We also stopped at the Grand Canyon for a few days. That place is incredible!

Goliath had to wear an inflatable neck collar for a while so he would stop biting his back. He does that when his mom and dad leave, because he gets pretty nervous. Doesn't he look like he could go swimming?

I'm so excited to get this year started! We will have a great time learning about writing, reading, math, science, P.E., music, and so much more! This year we have a new computer lab and library, so that's awesome! I also love Curious George. Maybe you've seen my room in the hallway last year - there's a lot of Curious George stuff on the walls and in the windows!
I am excited to meet you! We are going to have a great year!

Camp Fox Rocks Craft Time!

We made mosaic crafts at camp, using dried beans and lentils.
Everyone designed a shape, then went to work!
