Hi there! If you are reading this blog, it probably means that you are about to be a 2nd grader in my classroom! I'm so glad you stopped by! This blog is an important part of our classroom. I often take pictures of our class hard at work, or special topics we are learning about, so get ready to come back here often!
There are a few things you might want to know about me:
1. I am very excited for this school year to start! I have been daydreaming about who will be in Room 14 all summer, and I'm so glad that we will be able to get to know each other soon!
2. I am CRAZY about Curious George. He is my very favorite monkey of all time, and he and his many books are all over Room 14. You'll see....
2. I have a furry little doggie named Goliath. He thinks he is the boss of my house. When I go to the store or the park and I don't take him, he often tips over his food dish and splashes his water all over the floor to try to teach me a lesson. He is 10 years old, or in dog years, he would be 70!
I have a new nephew named Ayeresam! He was born in Ethiopia, but my brother and his wife brought him to their house in Oregon. This picture was taken at his 1st birthday party at the end of June. Isn't he a handsome baby guy?
I also have a new baby niece! This is Adelaide:
Isn't she a pretty lady?
These are the twins in my family... how fun is it to have twin nieces, you ask? Very fun! They are 5 year olds, and they are ballerinas.
This summer, Mr. Brosnan and I went on a long vacation in our car. We stopped at Yellowstone National Park, and it was AWESOME! This is the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
There were many geysers with hot steam spouting out of the ground. We had never seen them before, and we were impressed! Some of the smoke was STINKY and smelled like rotten eggs!
This is called Grand Prismatic Spring. The water was orange, yellow, green, and turquoise, and VERY hot. Isn't it beautiful?
Mr. Brosnan and I took a kayak ride in a really pretty lake in the Grand Tetons. They are near Yellowstone in Wyoming.
Then, we drove across Wyoming into South Dakota. We found cute little prairie dogs on the side of the road! How fun is that?!?
We drove to a famous mountain called Mt. Rushmore. A man (and many helpers) carved the mountain for 14 years. Do you know the names of the presidents on the mountain?
We drove through a part of South Dakota where DONKEYS were wandering around slowly...we rolled down our car window and they stuck their HEAD through the window to say "hi"!!! We laughed so hard!
We also saw many, many bison on our drive. Sometimes, they'd walk through the street, and we just had to step on the brakes and see what they were going to do! So funny!
We ended our drive by stopping in Idaho at the Potato Museum. Check out the size of this baked potato!
