We Have Visitors!

Today, our mealworms arrived for us to observe and take care of!

Half of our mealworms are eating apples, and the other half are eating carrots. We are curious if mealworms grow and change more quickly, depending on what their diet is.

Most kids gave their mealworm a name.

We are not sure how to tell which ones are boys and which ones are girls.

The stages of a mealworm are:

egg, larva, pupa, and adult

A mealworm is the "larva" stage of its life cycle.

We are excited to have these extra critters sharing our room! Next, we will get milkweed bugs!

A Mysterious Letter!

Last week, I got a mysterious envelope in my mailbox. Inside was a letter from Chad, who happens to live in Minnesota. His class found our school on-line, and we were lucky enough to be a part of his class' competition! Each child in Chad's class picked a state to learn more about, and we were asked to tell facts about our state (and city).

This is the letter from Mrs. Weyer, Chad's teacher. You can click on any picture to make it bigger.

Look at what some of our class had to say!
