Hat Day!

Hat Day was alive and well in Room 14 today....
(When the teacher leaves her camera at home, the kids get their pictures taken with her cell phone!)

We are all getting very excited for our upcoming vacation! Our room has been a busy workshop where we have been making gifts, reading fun stories, and sharing family traditions.

Wishing all of you a fun and special holiday season!!!
See you in 2011!

Cozy Pajama Day!

What a perfect day for wearing pajamas to school! There are low gray clouds outside, and there have been rumors of snow in the forecast!

Nothing's more fun that reading a book on a carpet mat in your pj's!

Best buds!

Thanksgiving Songs!

Albuquerque, he's my turkey
And he's feathered, and he's fine
And he wobbles and he gobbles
And I'm awfully glad he's mine
He's the best pet
You could ever get
Better than a dog or cat
Albuquerque, he's my turkey
And I'm awfully glad of that

The pilgrims came across the sea
From England, far away
And now we always think of them
When it’s Thanksgiving Day.

The Mayflower was their sailing ship
Across the waves of foam
They landed there on Plymouth Rock
And this was their new home.

The bitter winter was so hard
That many Pilgrims died
By spring they had some growing crops
And Wampanoag friends besides

When harvest came, they were so glad
They learned so many things
Wampanoags joined the feast
And so much food they did bring

So many things they had to learn
All along the way
We’re thankful just like everyone else
For this Thanksgiving Day!

Zoomers & Roller Coasters

Our class made "zoomers" to show that we know how spinning objects use an axis!
It was hard work!

We also made roller coasters out of foam tubes and a marble.
We made loop-de-loops, hills, dips, and spirals!
Gravity keeps the sphere rolling toward the ground, and if you have enough force, the sphere can move up the track!

Spooky Spider Party!

We had such a fun time at the Spooky Spider Party! Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered their time and donated supplies!

Everyone made a realistic looking spider out of play-dough.

They also made a spicy spider treat to eat!

They measured the lengths of different fake spiders' body parts...

Everyone read and decorated their own spider book, too!

You've heard of "Pin The Tail On The Donkey".... what about "Pin The Pedipalps On The Spider"? It's so fun!

That's the bookshelf! Not the spider!
Much closer!

What an exciting afternoon!
